C'mon

Right now, I’m listening to song called “People C’mon” by the band Delta Spirit, the chorus of which goes like this:

“If you’re feeling what I’m feeling c’mon.
All you soul-searching people c’mon.”

Which is a rallying cry for Off Road Shakespeare if ever there was one.

Whatever has led you here, whatever you are searching for in this moment, there’s a good chance that it’s something we share.  Whether it’s a conviction that live theatre creates essential empathetic human connection, and because you think theatre belongs to everybody and access to it should be total and radical and real, or because you just like a really good story; if you saw our work once or twice or three times, or if you are brand new to the way we play; whether you love Shakespeare, or you’re pretty sure you never need to see one of his shows again; whether you’re an actor, an audience, a creator, a seeker, a dreamer, an activist, a clown, a rabble rouser- welcome.  You are in good company. We are so glad you are here.

This is our blog.  We’ll call it something more clever soon enough and it’s where we’ll be tracking our miles; sharing personal insights from a variety of voices about what we do, and why we do it, and how we do it. We’ll have glimpses into productions, past and current.  We’ll spend some time talking about our practices and our theories, and where the two collide. We’ll dream a little, and rant a little. Revel a little, or a lot. Most importantly, we’ll continue soul-searching, right along with you.

You feeling what I’m feeling?
C’mon.
